"RUMBLE" COUCH

1967

Produced by Poltronova

The design of this couch, like the other pieces of furniture in this loft, Gianni Pettena’s studio-home, derives from the experience of living in a spacious place, originally a 19th-century studio for artists, in which the furnishings had to suit the scale of the place and not that of the human being. They are objects that hold a dialogue with the volume of the whole space and that also take into account the fact that they are used there, by people. The couch is a simple, original form, a lap on which everything happens or has already happened, but that still suggests possibilities, other things that might occur.
